New Music: Dee Dasher – Out Here

With her Conscious Home album out at the end of the month, Dee Dasher has treated us to the autumnal tones of Out Here.

There’s a very natural and innocent quality to Out Here; even as Dasher sings of getting tired at times, the song pushes the twin notions of positivity and beauty, bringing a smile to your face.

Dee Dasher lives in the rural town of Jim Thorpe in Pennsylvania, making music, art – and pies – and the folkish feel of that life does feed through into the arrangement. The chorus is pure pop, however, and the warm synth tones bolster the natural ambience of the track as a whole.

With a vocal style that is reminiscent of Natalie Merchant and Shawn Colvin, passionate but with a sunny demeanour, you can often feel like you’re talking to a trusted friend when listening to the track.

States Dasher about the lyrics, “Out Here is a song about pushing through exhaustion, chasing dreams even when you’re running on empty, and remembering the strength we find when we lean on each other.”
