New Music: Ani Glass – Acwariwm

Listening to a song in a language you don’t understand might push you to rely on the unspoken parts to glean more of its meaning. That can make it an even more rewarding experience.

The title of Acwariwm is easy to get a grasp of, and Ani Glass has helpfully included an English translation of the lyrics, but she also communicates with the listener in other, subtle ways.

Autumn breathes through the song, not heralding the cold wind of winter, but symbolising the rebirth of life and positivity that awaits us in the future. Expressing that through such an uplifting soft-pop aesthetic will fill you with warmth, a sense that that light and love inevitably triumph over the dark.

Talking about the song, Glass reveals, “[Acwariwm] is about reconnecting with the world around you and reminding yourself to keep looking for hope in every corner, even when things seem dark.”

Acwariwm will feature on Phantasmagoria, the upcoming album from Ani Glass, which is set for release on the 26th of September.
