New Music: Lawson Hill – SIX FEET

SIX FEET goes the whole nine yards when it comes to giving the listener dramatic, queer electropop with a dreamlike clubby attitude.

The latest single from Boston-based Lawson Hill is uplifting dance pop at its best, with some 80s beats and richly toned synths giving Hill’s voice the chance to soar to ever greater, queer-positive heights. The lyrics may have their darker moments, but the chorus has a hint of Lady Gaga to it, as the overall message of SIX FEET is to be yourself, never give up, and always, always serve.

Reveals Hill, “SIX FEET is my dark-pop, electro-pop club anthem about death and resurrection in the search for identity. It was born from those moments when you feel completely buried, almost forgotten, but a spark of willpower pushes you back toward the surface.”

“The song is primal and cinematic, pulling inspiration from Lady Gaga’s fearless theatricality and the way horror and pop can collide to create something both thrilling and liberating. I wanted it to feel like stepping into a midnight club where the bass rattles your bones, yet the lyrics whisper about survival and rebirth.”

“For me, SIX FEET is liberation; it’s the sound of clawing out of the dark and realizing you’re not just alive, you’re on top of the earth. It’s about celebrating the resilience it takes to own who you are, even when the world tries to bury you.”
