Swiss musician darkeyed parlays the range and depth of shoegaze and dream pop into a cohesive whole on in another life.

Inviting comparisons to Slowdive and The Sundays, in another life is unexpectedly upbeat, even as the lyrics are tinged with sadness, and an acceptance that the act of living itself can often involve change and loss. It’s not a sad song, though; it recognises that those moments of change and loss are what make us human.

“Sometimes all that remains is the question of who we might have become,” says darkeyed of the track. “This song was inspired by my favorite game called life is strange… [It’s] about a friendship that faded, not by choice, but because life placed us in different directions.”
