New Music: Antti Everything – Disappear

The Helsinki/Berlin duo Antti Everything head down a bracing, bittersweet road on their latest single, Disappear.

Uptempo and upbeat, the song looks at finding a space for yourself in a busy and chaotic world. It’s not about opting out; it’s more that the lyrics encourage us to find that special someone and create a world within a world, find ourselves and maybe love too.

The mix of rock, electronics, and post-punk places Disappear in a very distinctive place musically. Think along the lines of fellow Nordic bands The Exploding Boy, Machinista, and Apoptygma Berzerk, and you’ll quickly get a feel for the high-emotion, high-energy nature of the song, its thought-provoking lyrics accompanied by a very danceable melody.

Says the band, “[Disappear] is about escaping to the woods, disconnecting from the constant stream of information and expectations, and taking some time alone to breathe, think, and reconnect with yourself. It’s not about rejecting modern society, but about finding a moment of peace before you get swallowed up by all the craziness.”
