New Music: YAANG – Leech
Manchester trio YAANG take their sexualised electro-rock on the road with Leech as their soundtrack and call to arms.
The band, comprising Davey Moore on vocals and sampler, Oliver Duffy on guitar and vocals, and Ben White on bass, tweak no-frills garage and electro rock towards an indie sleaze freakout laden with epic riffs and a whole lot of sexual and moral escape.
Leech might make you feel like a voyeur willing or otherwise, and that’s what makes a whole of possible not-so-clean fun. The accompanying video gives that sensation added impetus, a live performance in front of an enraptured audience barrelling us through the battle between the id, ego, and superego in under five minutes. Freud would be jealous!
“Leech has been a live staple since it was written; we’re happy to have a definitive version that hits as hard as we’d hoped. This is our dancefloor call – you should make the most of it because we won’t ask twice.”
YAANG are touring throughout the rest of the month, winding up the tour in what no doubt will be a triumphant homecoming gig in Manchester, with Sheffield, Preston, and London among the gigs coming our way beforehand.

Leech is out now on limited-edition vinyl via Cracked Ankles via Bandcamp. For more details on that as well as venue and ticket info for those live dates, be sure to follow the band on Facebook and Instagram.
