New Music: Boys Go To Jupiter – Just So You Know

Brooklyn-based trio Boys Go To Jupiter get set for the follow-up to March’s Now You’re A Circle EP by sharing Just So You Know.

The band, comprising Jess Kantorowitz on lead vocals, Caleb Martin-Rosenthal on keys, and Luke Volkert on guitar, took on the writing and production duties for Just So You Know, a new route for the band to express themselves, on what is a heartfelt reflection on social anxiety and the feeling of being trapped in one’s own body.

The lyrics have a mix of eloquence, naivety, and observational insights that catch the spirit of being young – or old, or anything in between – in an age where navigating life is full of pitfalls and pratfalls. We’ve all been there, in that place where over-analysis can become paralysis, but our fibre is telling us to be the best version of ourselves. Then, as in the song, everything bursts forth, loud and maybe awkward, the relief and energy palpable. And that angst subsides for a moment, life looking suddenly better.

With the band set to tour New England and beyond in the opening months of 2027, and that new EP on the way, this is a great way to get the witty, hook-filled indie sound of Boys Go To Jupiter.

“We have collectively often felt that we missed the lesson in school where you learn how to effortlessly strike up conversations in a new environment and charm everyone you meet. While many genuinely seem to be born with the gift of gab, we think the majority of people have often felt that they are on the outside looking in.”

“The worst part about this feeling is that you may know you have it within yourself to be cool, interesting, charming, etc., but you freeze up, and just can’t seem to break down that barrier. If only people could take the time to get to know you, you could show them how incredible you truly are. We hope that Just So You Know can be an anthem for the less gab-gifted people: a song you can use to hype yourself up on your way to your friend’s friend’s birthday party.”

“In recording Just So You Know, we wanted the song to feel as raw and vulnerable as possible. We had a demo of the song that we made in spring of 2025 that was just acoustic guitar, piano, and vocals recorded live in one take. When we got in the studio to record the record version, we decided to build drums and bass around the original demo rather than starting completely from scratch.”
