New Music: Anna Klein – Lonely

Toronto based singer-songwriter, producer, and performer Anna Klein says she has moved away from her acoustic roots in recent years. You can hear the fruits of that change on the winsome indie-electro of Lonely. You can watch the official lyric video for the track below.

The confessional, intimate nature of the lyrics is the strongest indication of her previous folk-flavoured sound, though the understanding of the need for a forthright melody in a pop track is also prominent. Klein’s vocals have a distinct Scandipop quality, light in tone but married to a sometimes more sombre lyrical content. Lonely is meant to be enjoyed, not endured, and finds a rich, upbeat way in which to explore some profoundly reflective themes.

Lonely can be streamed or downloaded on all major platforms, including Spotify and Bandcamp. Head over to Anna Klein’s Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter socials for details on how to listen to the song, as well as keeping up to date with news about upcoming live dates and releases.
