New Music: Ariel Beesley – Awake All Night

  • New Music: Ariel Beesley - Awake All Night

Los Angeles based indie-pop maven Ariel Beesley has collaborated the likes of Justin Warfield from She Wants Revenge and members of Iglu & Hartly, Love Thy Brother and Palm Springsteen to work on her new, self-titled EP.

With people like that on board, you might be expecting the sound to rock out with a dark and rhythmic style, but what you actually get with Awake All Night is something light, poppy and very catchy.

There’s an undercurrent of 80s New Wave to the track, as the choppy guitars and driving percussion recreate an indie disco ambience; but there’s a knowing vulnerability to Beesley’s vocals as well as a contradictory aura of swaggering confidence that evokes memories of Justine Frischmann and Sonya Madan.

Central to it all is a real sense of fun, of taking the ups and downs of life in its stride; and that’s what makes Awake All Night so special.

Awake All Night and the Ariel Beesley EP are out now via Young Writers Records, on Spotify, Soundcloud and all major digital platforms – check out her Facebook page  to find out more.
