New Music: Ava Vegas – More Tomorrow Than Yesterday

Berlin-based singer-songwriter Sarina Giffhorn is Ava Vegas (previously called VEGAS). With her upcoming album Ava Vegas due on out the 13^th of via Songs by Night, she’s revealed a video for featured track More Tomorrow Than Yesterday.

Sally Dige and Kate Bush are two artists that come to mind when listening to More Tomorrow Than Yesterday. Dige for the very subtle shade of melancholy that flows through the lyrics and arrangement, but Bush more for the vocals. Focused and strangely otherworldly, her voice is an instrument in its own right, adding another layer of gauzed emotion. Ava Vegas spent part of her childhood in Ibiza. Maybe that has influenced the chilled, Café Del Mar presence I picked up on, as the song feels like the perfect soundtrack for that moment where night slowly turns into day.
