New Music: Blamire – John

John is the third track from Newcastle-based synth-pop group Blamire. Comprised of producer Alex Blamire, multi-instrumentalist/producer Joe Sowter, and drummer Lee Clifford, they cite Killers and Keane as influences. Watch the video for the song below.

The band describes the song as “a journey speaking of disillusion with circumstances in your life and searching for a better, more meaningful existence,” something captured to perfection in the lush pop/rock tones of the arrangement. Alex Blamire’s vocals lift the song and add layers of emotion to heighten the music’s sombre yet anthemic tones, ending on a positive note, something it shares with the official video. John is a wonderful reminder that even in the darkest hours, daylight is not too far away.

John is out now and available to stream or download on all mainstream digital platforms, including Deezer and Apple Music. Be sure to follow Blamire on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram to keep up to date with music and news from the group.

The band is scheduled to play The Cluny in Newcastle on the 29^th of January, 2021, supporting Warm Digits – click here for information.
