New Music: Color Theory – The Rot

Los Angeles-based songwriter and producer Brian Hazard’s Color Theory project often explores the vicissitudes of love in an acute and honest manner. The Rot sees Hazard look at the death of love in his own poignant and deeply personal style.

The uncompromising honesty of the lyrics is given added weight by the melancholic Korine meets Empathy Test style sad-pop tones of the synths. It’s yet another welcome and salutary slice of quality pop from Color Theory.

Says Hazard, “The Rot is a haunting exploration of love’s inevitable decay and the fleeting nature of all things. This is one of my favorites from my upcoming thirteenth album. What others find depressing, I often find uplifting.”
