New Music: Django Stewart – Burning Bridges
Born in London to parents Dave Stewart of Eurythmics fame and Siobhan Fahey of Bananarama and Shakespeares Sister, Django Stewart has a great musical pedigree. He’s certainly lived up to expectations with new track Burning Bridges.
With a sound that seems to shift in time and space, the track fuses elements of pristine Britpop from the 80s, glossy 90s RNB sound, and the cosmic, dreamy electronica of the likes of Cub Sport, Asbjørn, and Troye Sivan. The vocals are drenched with a soulful demeanour, adding unbridled sensuality to an already intoxicating mix. Burning Bridges is a perfect evocation of falling out of and in love.
Django comments about Burning Bridges; “‘The track is about being in a relationship that’s dying, and subsequently falling in love with someone else. I was in the Bahamas when I was sent the beat. Me and Tyler, who features on the track, danced around talking about crushes and wrote the whole thing in a heartbeat.”
