New Music: Dubinski – Fall Right In The Grave

Edinburgh-based Dubinski have their own highly distinctive and addictive brand of hard indie, as you can hear on Fall Right In The Grave. The track is from their self-titled debut album, out on the 11^th of November via Gnu Roam/Kartel Music Group.

The band, comprising brothers Eugene, Fergus, Donal, and Eoin Gaine, have a sound that successfully brings takes indie-pop in a darker, more rock-oriented direction. Think the groove-laden, choppy licks of Franz Ferdinand given a Queens of the Stone Age-style gritty makeover and you’ll get an idea of where they’re coming from.

The sucker-punch switch to a more melodic sound as Fall Right In The Grave comes to a close gives vocalist Eugene a chance to show his vocal dexterity and emotional range. It also gives the band a wonderful opportunity to showcase their versatility – and sheer talent. What a song!
