New Music: Genuine Leather – Even If I Could

Chris Galis is the Austin, Texas based musician behind Genuine Leather. Galis has been a mainstay of the Austin music scene since 2009 and along with his bandmates, can still serve up fresh goods, as you can hear on Even If I Could.

Galis says that the song began as a memo on his phone titled “Phil Collins song.” While the percussion does hint at Collins’ signature sound of the 80s, Even If I Could is rather timeless.

An 80s pop vibe similar to Thompson Twins is threaded into the chorus, but the stadium friendly alternative tones of the song sit well next to the likes of White Lies, Editors, and CHVRCHES.

Even If I Could will feature on the band’s Genuine Pleasure EP which is scheduled for release later this year.
