New Music: Holding Hour – Parallel Lines

Marissa Kephart and Scott Yoshimura are Holding Hour, a Des Moines, Iowa based band that seeks to explore the textures of indie rock, shoegaze, dreampop on tracks like Parallel Lines.

Examining issues like connection, divergence, and the complexity of human relationships, Parallel Lines is equally as thoughtful in exploring the blurry ground where indie and dreampop meet.

The light tones of the vocals pacify the harder edges of the rhythm sections, as the overall arrangement subtly captures the emotional tides and turns of the lyrics. This is one for fans of GRAZER, Swiss Portrait, and atmos bloom.

Says lead vocalist and guitarist Kephart about the track, “Parallel Lines is about the push and pull of relationships, the tension between two people who are close but over time slowly grow distant.”

Parallel Lines can be streamed and downloaded on Bandcamp and is also available on Apple Music, Spotify, and Soundcloud. The song will feature on the band’s upcoming EP. Head to Instagram, TikTok, or Facebook for the latest news from Holding Hour.
