New Music: Jordana x MELVV – I’ll Take It Boring

With a new EP in the pipeline, Jordana follows up the re-release of her debut LP Classical Notions of Happiness on Grand Jury with the delicately poised but very enjoyable I’ll Take It Boring.

The track (and EP) sees her move away from her more lo-fi recording style and into the studio, teaming up with MELVV. What that gets you is a song that travels a similar road to groups like Sorry and Shame, though with a more intimate, feminine touch. If Nina Persson of The Cardigans lived next door and came over to write about the moments that never left us as our teen years do, it might sound like this.

Jordana has this to say about the inspiration behind the track: “I’ll Take It Boring is the first single from the new EP and it’s got me thinking a lot about how many times I ghosted social situations and have been grieving those times but I do not doubt that I’ll still do it on the other side of this… it’s about my experience at a Halloween party which I regretted attending. It’s a song for all the introverts out there, for all the people who feel like blowing off their weekend plans and staying home.”

I’ll Take It Boring is out now, head over to Bandcamp page, or her Instagram and Twitter socials for details on how to listen to the song, as well as keeping up to date with news about her upcoming EP. You can stream Jordana’s Classical Notions of Happiness album on Spotify.
