New Music: Karate, Guns & Tanning – Breaking Teeth

Published On: March 28th, 2021|

Indianapolis/Louisville outfit Karate, Guns & Tanning have built up a real head of steam ahead of their Concrete Beach album release, which dropped on the 26th of March. Once you hear Breaking Teeth (and see the wild visuals from Andrew Knives), you’ll know the album has delivered on the promise of their previous singles.

It’s a glorious, fuzzy wall of noise, chock-full of buzzsaw grooves, shouty vocals, and laden with alt.rock attitude. It reminds me of Black Mountain in their prime, having that same blend of steamroller riffs and pounding rhythms, at times both cosmic and caustic, but always entrancing.

Breaking Teeth and Concrete Beach can be streamed on Spotify, YouTube Music, and Apple Music. You can purchase Concrete Beach on Bandcamp in digital format, and you can find out how to order the vinyl edition of the album here. Find out more about Concrete Beach on the band’s Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook pages. You can watch the entire visual album by Andrew Knives that accompanies the release of Concrete Beach on YouTube.
