New Music: Korine – In Your Eyes

In the lead-up to the release of their A Flame In The Dark LP next month, Philadelphia duo Korine follow up their Anhedonia single with the equally entrancing In Your Eyes.

In common with Anhedonia, In Your Eyes also applies a shimmery and dreamlike gauze to an arrangement that is influenced by shoegaze and dream pop, while always retaining an open and accessible sound.

The vocals float over the guitars, yet there’s a vulnerability about them, as they almost live the pain of the lyrics, heightening the low-key heartache that will melt any resistance you might have to the song’s charms.

A Flame In The Dark is now up for pre-order in vinyl, CD, and cassette editions over on Bandcamp. The eight-song album is set for release on the 28th of March via Born Losers Records.

Korine have just played some select European gigs, but soon embark on an extensive North American tour to tie in with the release of A Flame In The Dark.
