New Music: LIBRE – All Combined

Liverpool meets Berlin on All Combined, the new single from Copenhagen-based trio LIBRE.

That may come across as an unusual combination, but it makes sense once you hear the track. Blessed with some of the dreamiest shoegaze melodies you’ve heard in years, All Combined, nevertheless, has a raw and icy theme too.

With the intro having a Berlin-era Bowie aspect to it – an enclosed buzz – the vocals and arrangement soon occupy a space once explored by Echo & the Bunnymen or The Teardrop Explodes. It remembers the punk aspect of the post-punk continuum, which gives the song a vibrancy that is welcome but very unexpected.

“All Combined is a timeless anthem to friendship and fleeting joy… a sonic toast to love, loss and everything in between,” says the band.
