New Music: Matu – Your Show

Your Show is an early and enjoyable insight into the new EP from London-based Patagonian, Matu. If you like your folk with a rock twist, then this is for you.

There’s a vulnerability in Matu’s voice that matches the excitement and confusion of the lyrics, as the singer relates a tale of infatuation. In his more intimate moments, Matu sounds somewhat like Tom Odell or Lord Huron, but when his emotions are let loose in sync with the melody, echoes of Lou Reed and Bryan Ferry flood the senses to electrifying effect. On this showing, the EP is going to being something special indeed.
