New Music: Maximilian Tanner – Requiem

Maximilian Tanner has described his sound as ‘late night synthy music,’ but that undersells the beauty of Requiem.

On Requiem, Tanner explores an atmospheric and emotionally powerful side of electronic pop, as its arrangement merges glacial synth-pop themes with a touch of post-punk melancholia. If you’re familiar with White Lies and the Swedish electronic outfit Covenant, you’ll like the sonic and lyrical palette of Requiem, nostalgic with a distinctly pop sensibility.

Reveals Tanner about the song, “Requiem is a song about leaving the past behind. Struggling with change, and deciding to lay down your sword.”

Maximilian Tanner will be supporting Terror Bird in London on the 22nd of August and making an appearance at Sidney & Matilda in Sheffield on the 10th of September, opening for Warrington Runcorn Newtown Development Plan.
