New Music: MBG – Too Slow

MBG defines herself as a one-woman rock band, and on her new single Too Slow she plays all the instruments and continues the DIY ethic by recording the song in a friend’s home studio. Check it out below.

MGB (Leena Rodriguez) knows how to throw some classic rock shapes here, as after the low key, bass-infused intro, the song quickly fires on all cylinders, both lyrically and musically. Showing a real knowledge of what constitutes a tremendous indie anthem, the song employs the loud-quiet-loud motif and hones it to perfection.

It also possesses another knack so beloved of Pixies and Smashing Pumpkins; serving up a song that takes a personal theme and making it universal and epic. It’s put into play here with real verve and emotion, making Too Slow a prime cut of alt.rock goodness.

Too Slow is out now and available to stream or download on all major platforms, including Spotify and Bandcamp. Be sure to check out MBG on her Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter pages for news about the song, upcoming releases, and more.
