New Music: Mowukis – Animals Used To Scare

MOWUKIS is the project of Louis-Louise Kay. After working with others; collaborating and experimenting with various bands, composing for movie directors, choreographers, contemporary circus acts and many other projects, Kay has released the excellent track Animals Used To Scare and it is well worth checking out.

Kay cites influences as diverse as Apparat, The Knife, Four Tet, Caribou, Colleen, and Jose Gonzales and you can hear that in the track: it’s a delicate slice of guitar infused electronica which very much tickles the senses rather overwhelming them.

The amazing video was directed by Titouan Bordeau from Studio Folimage and is entirely hand drawn; retracing the dreamlike meandering of a mysterious individual through an everchanging desert. In both mood and pace, the video is a perfect match for the song. Animals Used To Scare is out now and you can buy the track and its parent album No Answers No via Bandcamp.
