City Vocabulary is Portuguese shoegazers Hause Plants’ first single, and will also feature on their debut EP Public Speaking, which will be out in the first half of 2020. Check out the song below and enjoy the ride.

Written, composed and performed by Guilherme Correia, the song takes its cues from the classic eras of shoegaze and grunge. What that gets you is a track that frames itself around the sound of acts like Ride and Pavement but with a more acerbic, upfront sensibility. That harder edge is tempered by the sun-drenched vocals of Correia and Vera Vaz from the band Bluish, the perfect sonic vessels for lyrics he says are ‘snapshots a long-distance relationship through the lens of a reckless youth’.

Check out their Hause Plants’ social media including Bandcamp, Instagram, and Facebook for more information on how to stream and download the track.
