New Music: Palm Ghosts – Blind

Nashville is a musical hub for all kinds of genres and scenes but hearing the music of dreampop / post-punk act Palm Ghosts is a pleasant, enjoyable curveball for a city so popular with country and pop musicians. Watch the video for Blind, and you’ll soon know why.

If you have a soft spot for The Chameleons, Echo and The Bunnymen, and The Cure, then the music of Palm Ghosts will be right up your street. Blind sees them take from the sound of 80s UK alternative music and give it a sonic spring clean. The song is stark at times but full of emotion and ever-evolving, as the vocals twist and entwine themselves with the guitar and synth melodies. Dreampop with a dark yet sharp edge, that’s Blind.

The band had this to say about the song, which is the opening track on their upcoming album, “Blind about suspicion and paranoia standing in the way of truly seeing people, and consequently sounds like a comment thread of mired arguments over an underlying harmony.”
