New Music: Palm Ghosts – Silent Fall

With their Post-Preservation LP out in a matter of days, Nashville outfit Palm Ghosts have let us have another glimpse of what’s in store by dropping a video for featured track Silent Fall.

With guest vocals courtesy of Anne McCue, the song riffs on the rhythmic and tense elements of the early post-punk period.  Silent Fall invites favourable comparisons to New Order, Psychedelic Furs, and The Cure in the way it channels the listener’s thoughts and moods in a specific, reflective direction.

The hearrfelt vocals bring the song away from the darker sides of the genre however, with Joseph Lekkas and McCue perfectly articulating the trials of love in hard times. Palm Ghosts have once again deomstrated their knack for looking to the past for inspiration, while not sounding retro or reproductive.
