New Music: psylhouette – Moonlight
Brighton duo psylhouette bring an almost psychedelic passion to kosmiche and post-punk on their third album, Psylhouette III. Their unique sound is at its best in the opening track, Moonlight.
Moonlight bridges two major themes in their music – dreamy shoegaze and lush, droning electronica – into a giddily soft focus. Hypnotic and soothing, though with a suspenseful air flickering through the arrangement like candlelight breaking the haze of a looming dusk. That ghostly undercurrent is brought centre stage by the vocals, their ethereal nature drawing the listener’s attention away from the worries of the world.

“’Dancing in the moonlight’ means that you celebrate that something bright can come out of darkness,” says the duo about Moonlight. “It’s about acknowledging your darker side and turning it into something beautiful.”
Psylhouette III was released on the 29th of November and can be downloaded on Bandcamp, along with the band’s back catalogue. The album, which will appeal to fans of Curve and Mazzy Star, can also be heard on YouTube Music and Spotify; make your way to psylhouette’s Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter accounts.
