With her debut album A Good Girl due out soon, Toronto’s RALPH (aka Raffa Weyman) has dropped another track to keep us going until then in the form of the sunny Weather.
With its modern take on the vintage woman centred electro pop sound pioneered by the likes of Madonna, Janet Jackson and Cyndi Lauper, Weather takes summer as a metaphor for the stages in a relationship, and wondering if it’ll last past the first leaf fall.
It’s delivered in such a way as to sell the innocence of first love with real conviction, and details the ensuing uncertainty with deft lyrical flourishes and the delicately forthright vocal performance from RALPH herself.
Weather is available on all streaming services, you can find out more by following this link. For more information on the upcoming A Good Girl LP which has a release date of 28th September, check out her social media including Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
