New Music: Soft Streak – A Woman on the Verge

A Woman on the Verge is a very evocative title for a song, immediately bringing the famous Almodovar film to mind. Soft Streak’s single of the same name takes a more measured approach to emotions; however, as you can see and hear in the video.

There’s a CHVRCHES meets Chromatics feel to the song in the way it takes synthpop and makes it into something retro but incisive, inviting the listener to bathe in the moment, but take the lyrics to heart forever.

They say about A Woman on the Verge, “Historically, I haven’t felt very comfortable talking about my feelings with other people. Because…gross. I don’t even really like having feelings (this is something I’m working on lol) and sometimes the feelings I do have don’t feel important enough to talk about. So, this song is about some really low mood swings, and patterns of depression – because it’s always easier to put it in a song.”

A Woman on the Verge is out now and can listen to the song and more music from Soft Streak on Apple Music, YouTube Music, and Spotify – click here for more information. You can catch up with the duo on Instagram and Twitter to discover more about their upcoming album.
