New Music: Spooky and the Bear – Water

  • New Music: Spooky and the Bear - Water

Spooky and the Bear (producer Marco Dianese and vocalist Nina Varner) is a New York/Brooklyn based band. Their track Water balances the organic (literally) and the electronic with sublime perfection.

The sound of running water pervades the track, creating a sense of rainy day melancholy and reflection, those times when you just stare out the window, watching the world change as the water flows, but being certain that some things will remain the same.

There’s that sense of permanence in the lyrics, which shine with the positivity that comes from friendship and love, as subtle beats and electronic undulations offer the listener a feeling of comfort and safety within the digital embrace.

Water comes from the So Long Ago EP which is available in limited edition cassette format on Bandcamp and can also be streamed in full on Spotify.
