New Music: Tarn PK – Cry Baby
Ahead of the release of his F.O.M.O project, Wellington, New Zealand based singer-songwriter Tarn PK has dropped featured track Cry Baby.
Indie music with a pop sensibility and a folkish quality to the self-analysis of the lyrics, Cry Baby wraps chilled beats and warm synths around a vocal performance that allows the vulnerability of the song’s central message to connect with the listener as if having an earnest conversation with a good friend.
Cry Baby won’t give you answers in dealing with any roadblocks in your life, but it can help support you along the way, like good friends should. Fans of Broke For Free and Andrew Applepie will love what’s going on here.

“Cry Baby came from a time of feeling like I wasn’t moving forward and thinking, ‘What am I going to do about this? There’s no point feeling sorry for myself, I might as well just make the most of my circumstances.’ A big part for me was trying to detach from my expectations and just appreciate things as they currently are.”
“Sonically I was inspired by the contrast of digital sounding synthesizers and live drum breaks. The moment that brought the song to life was bringing in the vibraphone, which felt like an odd but intriguing choice.”
Cry Baby can be streamed on SoundCloud, Spotify, and YouTube Music. For news about F.O.M.O, follow Tarn PK on Instagram, TikTok, or Facebook.
