New Music: Lost Gems – Slow Poison

Slow Poison is the debut single from California’s Lost Gems. The song sees singer-songwriter Cynthia Isabella of Silence in the Snow fame team up with producer Alex DeGroot (Zola Jesus} on what is indeed a gem of a tune.

There’s a strong influence of Cocteau Twins and New Order in the mood of the song, as it references brooding rhythms and light post-punk notes. Isabella’s vocals give the track an almost hymnal quality, as the lush synths bring a cinematic air to its overall tone. One for fans of Chromatics, Drab Majesty, and lovers of quality electronica with a gothic twist.

Cynthia shares, “Lyrically, Slow Poison is a reflection on the way a person can project their desires and dreams into a reality that brutally contradicts that vision.”
