New Music: Lost Gems – The Other Side

Previously known for her work with dark ethereal outfit Silence in the Snow, Cynthia Isabella has teamed up with Zola Jesus collaborator Alex DeGroot on The Other Side, the latest single from Lost Gems.

The follow-up to their Slow Poison debut, the song wraps itself in a dreamy melancholia, thanks in large part to Isabella’s vocal performance and glistening lead guitar.

You can hear something of the innocent pop aesthetic of Cocteau Twins and The Sundays here, given a fresh sheen courtesy of a tight yet warm production. Just put The Other Side on repeat and let yourself drift away into your daydreams.

The Other Side – which they describe as “A bittersweet story,” and Slow Poison can be downloaded on Bandcamp and are streaming on all digital outlets including Spotify, YouTube Music, and Soundcloud.
