New Music: IST IST – Repercussions

With their Light A Bigger Fire slated for a September release date, Manchester post-punk outfit IST IST treated us to another featured track, the brooding and introspective Repercussions.

With the synth hooks more prominent and Adam Houghton’s distinctive vocals to the fore, it’s a wonderful example of the band’s diversity of sound. While the overall tone is sombre and reflective, the song soars, as the punchy chorus and memorable riffs ensure that this track will be a highlight of the live sets in years to come.

Says IST IST vocalist Adam Houghton, “[Repercussions is] about damaging thoughts and feelings lingering in your mind. Whether it’s for better or worse you know things are going to irreversibly change when you spill them to somebody. This song is about getting lost in the notion of wondering what would happen if you could truly express yourself with no consequences.”

IST IST embark on a series of UK and European later this year, with a home town gig at New Century in Manchester certain to be a highlight. Along with appearing at the legendary Paradiso in Amsterdam, the quartet will stop off in Switzerland, Austria, Czech Republic, Hungary, Germany, Belgium, and Poland.

Ticket details for upcoming live dates can be found on the band’s Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter socials. Light A Bigger Fire is set for release on the 20th of September – you can pre-order the album’s CD and vinyl editions on the IST IST website. Repercussions is out now and streaming on Apple Music, Spotify, and Deezer.
