New Music: SONAROMA – MAN-IN-THE-MIDDLE

Published On: December 5th, 2024|

A haunting take on Coldwave and dark electronica, MAN-IN-THE-MIDDLE by SONAROMA is as atmospheric sonically as its lyrics are timely.

Harnessing tones and textures that are richly drawn and deeply emotional, its blending of rock aesthetics and pounding synths comes from a similar sonic milieu as acts like HEALTH, BlakLight, and Covenant. If you like your synth music laden with passion and thought-provoking in nature, you’ll find SONAROMA ticks those boxes, and more.

The song feels very relevant to the life many of us live today and every day. “MAN-IN-THE-MIDDLE delves deep into the darker side of modern technology, surveillance, and control,” says the artist.

“The lyrics explore the unsettling reality of being constantly watched, manipulated, and controlled by invisible forces, represented here by a malevolent AI or digital entity. This track is a haunting narrative about power, paranoia, and vulnerability in the digital age.”

MAN-IN-THE-MIDDLE and SONAROMA’s June 2024 album Aberrant Reflections can be downloaded on Bandcamp and streamed on Apple Music and Spotify. For up-to-date news from the artist, make sure to follow them on Instagram.
