New Music: 5ON5 – Sunshine

Berlin’s 5ON5 have teamed up with producer Michael Houdini to revisit Sunshine, successfully aiming to be part of your summer soundtrack.

Where the original possessed more of an indie-rock feel – and that can be heard still in the vocals – the band highlights both the vocals and soft yet urgent synths in the 2025 edition.

The lyrics speak of ghosts and passing on, but there’s no threat in the spirits of the past and future that possess Sunshine.

Rather, it shows us that the past is not always fixed, and can lead us to something new and better in the present. This is one of those songs that’ll float overhead in the summer sky as you chill in the park making memories, alone or with friends or a loved one.
