New Music: Billianne — Memories
Ahead of the release of her Modes of Transportation album and an extensive tour, Canadian singer-songwriter Billianne has shared a new track, Memories.
The song is a wonderfully realised reimagining of 70s musical themes into a nostalgically upbeat contemplation on getting on in life, but getting older without even noticing.
Those lyrics are paired with delicious vocals reminiscent of a young Adele, or Judee Sill at her most personally revelatory, hitched to Fleetwood Mac style harmonies and a folk arrangement dappled with the lightly coloured Americana.

Billianne says, “Memories is a reflection on how everything moves so incredibly fast, and the chorus is me reminding myself to hold on to everything that made me who I am and to do so every single day.”
“Next thing I know, I’ll be 80 sitting in a rocking chair, and all I’ll have from this time of still living with my parents, performing on stage, and the conflicts I face will all be memories.”
Memories is streaming on Spotify and SoundCloud. Modes of Transportation comes out on the 15th of August – you can find pre-order details right here. Head to Billianne’s Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok feeds for tour news.
