New Music: full catholic – All new drugs
As it opens, dominated by a rumbling bass and dissonant guitar, you get an inkling that All new drugs is not your average indie song.
Minneapolis-based full catholic release their third album, things go quiet, later this summer, and if you like your apocalypse to be folk-flavoured with a rock aesthetic, it’s worth keeping an eye out for.
Like Jefferson Airplane and Tuung meditating on the bad trip that is modern America, All new drugs never absolves itself of the need to connect with the listener as the band takes us into a sonic dystopia.

Reverb and distortion add to that unsettling air, but the vocals of Dani Michaele guide you through the darkness, not necessarily to a happy resolution, more letting you know that you are not alone.
States the band about the song, which comes out in the leadup to their new album, “All new drugs is about the ritual establishments that promise healing and growth while transacting in violence and disempowerment.”
