New Music: Club 8 – Lazy

Swedish indie duo Club 8 give their music something of a C86 twist on the September instalment of the monthly singles, Lazy.

If you have fond memories of The Shop Assistants, The Pastels (still going by the way, and as good as ever), and McCarthy – the more primitive, 60s-leaning, melodic side of that iconic scene – then don’t delay in adding Lazy to your playlists.

The production is sharper and crisper, it has to be said, and the track as a whole is polished when compared to that era, but the combination of innocence and cynicism that plays a large part in indie music of the time shines out on Lazy.
