New Music: Weakened Friends – Nosebleed

Weakened Friends look back to the days when grunge and indie rock dominated the airwaves with their new single, Nosebleed.

The track will feature on their Feels Like Hell album, which is shaping up to be unmissable for those of us that like our rock emotive, raw, and not just a little bit rowdy. The exposed nature of Sonia Sturino’s impassioned, desperately searching vocals is faced with a wiry and wired guitar line, so that by the end of Nosebleed, you are left both exhilarated and also emotionally drained.

“The track is about that emotional in-between when you’re not together anymore, but you’re also not really free from it yet,” says the band. “It combines grungy guitars, intentionally shaken vocals, and emotionally resonant lyrics.”

“The song came out of a conversation with a friend who was talking about their breakup,” they continue. “On the surface, they sounded like they were over it, but underneath it all, you could feel the weight of what they weren’t saying. It’s a feeling most of us know too well: pretending we’ve moved on while still being haunted by the past.”
