New Music: Pet Owner – FOMU

FOMU addresses what the Swiss artist refers to as ‘fear of messing up’ – that sensation where the urge for safety takes the joy of things from us.

Pet Owner plays with the concept through an arrangement that finds succour and expression in a space between dream pop and electronica; Air meets Beach House. Lyrically, it does express serious themes but also uses imagery and wordplay to encourage herself – and us – to set ourselves free, even if only for a few moments. 

Says Pet Owner about the song, “FOMU is a playful track about leaving behind the circus of everyday life, the self-imposed rules, the fear of failure. A soft rebellion disguised as an indie pop song.”
