New Music: Dubinski – Ciggy Burns
Scottish sibling quartet Dubinski have followed up November rocker Back To Basics with the equally anthemic Ciggy Burns.
The band saw out 2025 doing a headline European tour, and there’s no secret as to why the band is garnering more attention at home and abroad. Their songs often sound as if they have been honed to perfection on stage, night after night.
Ciggy Burns highlights how they are able to bring the passion and power of live music into the studio, polished up a bit for sure, but allowing the listener to appreciate what a Dubinski gig is like. It has faint echoes of Oasis, but this set of brothers prefer more complex melodies and thoughtful lyrics. You can sing along to Ciggy Burns, but equally, the lyrics will get you thinking about yourself – and others. And isn’t that one of the best things about music, finding yourself lost in a song?
“Ciggy Burns describes the struggle between two internal voices, one cruel and controlling, the other fragile and easily manipulated,” explains band member Eugene.
“By the end, submission turns into resistance, and the quieter voice finds the strength to break free, highlighting how the way we speak to ourselves can shape both our mindset and our actions.”

Ciggy Burns and Back To Basics will feature on the band’s as-yet-untitled new album, which is scheduled for release later this year.
