New Music: PRESIDIO – Shine of Love

Some sweet vocal harmonies and possibly playful lyrics give PRESIDIO’s folksy dream pop a slightly jarring note under that winsome guitar jangle.

The harmonies of Gabriella De La Cruz and Will Zesiger on Shine of Love are incredibly tight, inseparable even when the lyrics are telling us, ‘You won’t get me.’ When the guitar solo comes at you from a sweet and 60s-infused angle, you’re not quite sure whether the upbeat declaration of independence is a soft rebuff for a suitor, or a request for them to make a play for real.
