New Music: Bearcubs – Eraser

The opening track on his new Breathin’ album, Eraser, is both upbeat and easygoing – and a great introduction to Bearcubs’ soundscapes.

The Berlin-based artist brings a wistful ambience to the arrangement, as his vocals evoke a sense of missing the days of summers – and lovers – past. I don’t know if Eraser is based on personal experience, but if not, it reveals Bearcubs to be a subtle and skilled storyteller.

That theme of wanting to move you emotionally, as well as physically, through the reflective lyrics; and late-night electronica, lo-fi house, and indie dance textures occurs throughout the album. It’s no surprise to me that another track from the album, Take Me Home, will appear on EA FC26.

Says Bearcubs about the album, “Going to let the dust settle before I go into too much detail so you can experience it in your own way, but I will say it’s probably my most dance-focused album yet & explores the more energetic + extrovert side of things.”
