New Music: Club 8 – Travel Back In Time

Swedish duo Club 8 are getting ready for summer already by following the instructions of their new track, Travel Back In Time.

Club 8 do have a house style when it comes to music, one they have perfected over the last few years by releasing one single a month and occasionally compiling them into vinyl albums.

You can hear that in the lilting flute and the Northern Soul tempo of the percussion, as they give us an insight into the inventiveness that goes on under the hood of a Club 8 song. Travel Back In Time also captures so much of the band’s sound in a nutshell.

Indie with a presence of 60s French and British girl pop, it combines that with witty lyrics containing more than a hint of a darker theme. Karolina Komstedt and Johan Angergård’s Belle and Sebastian meets Saint Etienne sad bop sound comes through best in these slower numbers, and we love them for that.
