New Music: Divorce Court – Woodcrest

Woodcrest heralds in the July release of Divorce Court’s Two Hours album. The track, which takes from shoegaze, ambient soundscapes and chillwave, has a similar sound and soul to Empathy Test, Cigarettes After Sex, and Frightened Rabbit, but approaches that artful, personal sound from a distinctly pop-driven viewpoint. Simply beautiful.

Says Divorce Court main main Lynden Williams about Woodcrest, “This one is really special to me. It feels like it has its own life after everyone who’s put their magic on it over this last year. It’s a conversation between my inner child and I. It’s about honoring that moment when you come back together, and making new promises that you intend to keep.”

He adds about Two Hours, “There is an obvious theme on this new album, and I have been hesitant to share too much, but I hope this one connects with you in those levels of your consciousness that we sometimes forget to check in on.”

Two Hours is set for release on the 7th of July, while Woodcrest can currently be streamed on Amazon Music and Apple Music or downloaded on the Divorce Court’s Bandcamp page. For information on Williams and the LP, check out Divorce Court’s TikTok, Facebook, or Instagram accounts.
