New Music: Don’t Worry – This Time

Essex outfit Don’t Worry embark on a UK tour in the wake of their Idealism album’s release. This Time is certain to be a highlight of their live sets!

A mid-tempo alt.rocker, the vocals and lyrics are a relatable mix of stark realism and self-empowerment and are blessed with a chorus that is perfect for audience interaction. The reference to John Barleycorn gives a hint to the highs and lows of the track, revealing the band has a grasp of the greater tale our life stories embody.

Says songwriter Ronan Van Kehoe, “This Time is a song about learning from bad experiences and making sure you don’t make the same mistakes again. It’s about growing as a person and coming out of a rough period into a better time. Sonically, this track takes influence from Smashing Pumpkins and other 90s/00s bands and is perhaps the most directly alt.rock song on our third album, Idealism.”

He adds about the album, “Idealism is an album about navigating life in the 2020s as millennial adults, and all the difficulties and uncertainties that come with that – knowing you’ll probably never be able to afford to buy a house, and that a simple grocery shop costs way more than ever before.”

“But it’s also about all the joys and positives of modern life too – being kind to yourself, being kind to other people, and overcoming difficulties.”
