New Music: ecopunk – highway star

Barcelona-based ecopunk takes the aesthetics of dream pop and places them in an upbeat electronic environment on highway star.

The project of Belarusian producer Michael Anufriev, ecopunk has described the track as ‘the perfect track for driving fast on an open highway at night,’ and that notion of blurred speed and misty neon nights is entwined in the rhythm and colours of the arrangement.

The vocal sample loops round but it far from repetitive – it gifts the track an ambience similar to the visual effect of street lights flashing by in a comforting regularity, erasing the physical distance between the listener and the music.
