Elohim starts her second decade of releasing music in the best creative form of her life on the moody pop hit in the making, Half Alive.

On Half Alive, Elohim doesn’t play with musical boundaries, so much as bend them to her will. Trap and downtempo are persuaded to adopt an upbeat sonic terrain, as decidedly downbeat lyrics are paired with some high-tempo hooks.

It’s a happy-sad anthem in the making, a glitchy, occasionally wubby affair that has been rapturously received by her fans, and it should only take you one listen to know why, as she builds on the hybrid sound of last year’s Power of Panic album.
